Consulting
Modern enclosure systems are a complex combination of systems and materials designed, manufactured, and installed by various parties. In combination with the demands for quality, durability, schedule, and energy performance, it is not surprising that building enclosure is often considered to be the highest risk element of construction.
The roof is a critical component of any building enclosure system. Roof systems are highly exposed to weather therefore they must be appropriately designed and constructed to resist degradation to protect interior operations and occupants. Our roof consulting services include the evaluation of existing roofs and the design and construction of new roofs. This requires an experienced roof consultant who understands roof systems to guide the team to appropriate solutions. SSR's building enclosure consulting team verifies the functional performance of these systems both individually and together as a whole to meet the performance expectations of the project.
The most direct approach to verify the performance of installed enclosure systems is to perform field testing. SSR is an AAMA Accredited Testing Agency, verified through the Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA). Our team is highly experienced in performing a wide variety of air and water leakage, building airtightness, infrared surveys, electronic leak detection, impedance scanning, and adhesion testing. In addition to detailed understanding of test methods and procedures, effective enclosure testing also requires a comprehensive understanding of systems and materials to effectively diagnose and evaluate results.
