Tennessee Library and Archives Building
Nashville, Tennessee
The scope of this project includes a new facility for the Tennessee State Library and Archives located on the Bicentennial Mall at the corner of Jefferson Street and Fifth Ave. This new construction is estimated at 165,000 SF over three floors with below grade garage parking for 150 spaces. There is a planned mechanical penthouse. The construction is for a 100-year building with high performance MEP and envelope materials. The project will be released in multiple packages including a site package, structural package and the balance of work.
This project requires strict temperature, humidity, and lighting control. SSR tested for noise and vibration parameters in public, high occupancy and document storage spaces. SSR provided documentation confirming that mechanical systems as designed and installed are capable of maintaining space requirements and are performing well within design parameters. Our firm was tasked with verifying that the wireless lighting control system can inform the building automation system to optimize the use of occupancy sensors and devices and not duplicate controls. The scope also included verification of integration with the security system, any demand reduction micro-grid control and others as system design necessitates. Scope also included envelope commissioning with window and envelope joint testing as coordinated with the designer.
