OSU Wexner Medical Center
Columbus, Ohio
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center hospital will include a new 1.8M SF inpatient tower to replace aging University Hospital buildings on the Columbus, OH campus. This new facility will allow OSU to become one of the top academic medical centers. The tower will feature as many as 840 private patient rooms, adding 400 new beds including a new 60-bed neonatal intensive care unit and replacing 440 beds that will be retired in the existing Rhodes and Doan buildings. The tower also includes expansion of the emergency department, surgery and interventional suites, imaging, and critical care areas.
The project also includes a major site infrastructure work, relocation and expansion of roadways, and a parking garage.
SSR is providing technology planning and design services for the new hospital. In addition, SSR has been retained to provide visioning services to help evaluate and facilitate use case studies for implementing new technologies in the project.
