SSR provided engineering design, project management, and construction management services for the replacement and expansion of two new tanks at Cargill’s Memphis, Tennessee plant. The project consisted of placing 600 yards of concrete in a 37 feet deep hole and then placing two 20,000-gallon tanks. The tanks each weigh 38,000 pounds and had to be set by a 250-ton crane. Our scope of work also included the piping that ties the tanks to the rest of the plant. The new tanks allow Cargill to increase efficiency and capacity of extracting edible oils from seeds and vegetables.
