The mission of Genesis Women’s Shelter is to provide safety, shelter, and support for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, and to raise awareness regarding its cause, prevalence, and impact. The Dallas, Texas based organization recently moved into a new, 30,000 SF non-residential headquarters that offers a multitude of resources and services to women and doubles the size of their previous facility.  

This outreach facility prevents the need for shelter by providing non-residential resources and services. Those include Genesis’ legal justice center and its women and children’s trauma center, which oversees the counseling and advocacy services. The space also includes room to create a national training center for crimes against women and to expand Genesis’ new occupational therapy program. 

Genesis Women’s Shelter has been providing services for nearly 40 years and has helped more than 40,000 women and children in the Dallas area. SSR is honored to have been involved in this project with Beck Architecture. Our team provided technology services and the scope of work included communication system design, security consulting, and audiovisual design.
