The fountain at Civic Center Plaza in downtown Memphis is a central feature the urban park. The interactive fountain features computer-controlled lights and jets of water synchronized with music. It forms a splash pad that was designed for children to frolic in, as well as for joggers to cool off in on hot summer days.

The fountain and concealed basins are positioned in a challenging location both above and adjacent to a parking garage. SSR designed and assisted the team with a series of waterproofing repairs to the fountain basins, below grade walls, and challenging interstitial space below the extensive plaza deck. The project included new crystalline waterproofing submerged sealant joints.
