SSR Building Enclosure is an Accredited Field Testing Agency

Did you know SSR Building Enclosure is an accredited Field Testing Agency, verified through the Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA)? This prestigious accreditation is a testament to our commitment to excellence and our dedication to providing top-tier services to our clients.

What is the Field Test Agency (FTA) Accreditation Program?

The FTA Accreditation Program is designed to credential independent field testing agencies and ensure they meet the rigorous standards set by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). This program supports AAMA members, the fenestration industry, building owners, and their agents by validating that accredited agencies can test fenestration products in the field using the methods outlined in AAMA performance standards.

SSR: Leading the Way in Tennessee

We are proud to announce that SSR is the only firm in Tennessee to have received this accreditation. This achievement underscores our position as a leader in the industry and highlights our unwavering commitment to excellence.

The Rigorous Accreditation Process

Achieving this accreditation was no small feat. Our standard operating procedures and processes were thoroughly reviewed by an FGIA auditor who conducted a site visit to evaluate our equipment and witness multiple field tests. This rigorous process included a detailed calibration review to ensure our testing methods and equipment met the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Why This Accreditation Matters to SSR

SSR maintains its unique position as an industry leader by earning accreditations. We demonstrate our dedication to excellence and our commitment to staying at the forefront of industry standards.

Did you know AAMA standards require testing to be performed by accredited agencies?

  • AAMA 503: Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Storefronts, Curtain Walls, and Sloped Glazing Systems, mandates that testing be performed by an AAMA accredited independent testing agency (section 5.4).
  • AAMA 501.2, AAMA 502, ASTM E 783, ASTM E 1105: These standards outline the methods and requirements for field testing fenestration products, ensuring they meet the necessary performance criteria.

Looking Ahead

This accreditation not only validates our capabilities but also reinforces our commitment to providing the highest quality services to our clients. SSR enclosure testing can add value to a wide range of project types, not just as a stand-alone service. All of our design projects where we are repairing exterior systems are tested to verify performance during CA. Testing can be included as part the Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) process and pairs well with this 3rd party verification. Testing is a tool we use in building enclosure/ envelope consulting to solve problems and find solutions.

We look forward to continuing to lead the way in the field of building enclosure services and setting new standards of excellence in the industry.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights from SSR as we continue to innovate and excel in our field. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need further information about our services and this exciting new accreditation!
