Description:

This course will encourage and engage new thinking when it comes to building design as related to achieving net zero energy buildings. While much of the education will be around designing buildings in the southeastern United States, much of the content will be applicable to other locations and climates. Time will be dedicated reviewing examples of Net Zero design and how these elements can be applied to future design.

 

Learning Objectives:

Understand how a Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) is defined.

Identify key parameters to net-zero energy feasibility.

Explore the technologies, strategies, and process to achieve net-zero energy design targets.

Identify real-world examples that have achieved NZEB status, and recognize how to use these case studies to inform future design.
