Guthrie Corning Hospital is counting down the days until its patients are moved into a new facility in East Corning, N.Y. Patients will be transferred into the new hospital on July 12.

The new hospital features 65 private rooms and five large suites in the maternity unit–each named after the Finger Lakes. The upper floor, which includes the inpatient rooms, two medical/surgical units, and the intensive care unit, is nearly finished.

Finishing work continues in the emergency department, operating rooms, medical imaging unit and the new 18,400-square-foot Guthrie Cancer Center. Tree-lined parking lots and a large pond will surround the hospital.

The joint venture of Gilbane-Welliver is providing pre-construction and construction management services, Hammes Co. serves as the owner representative with Gould Turner Group serving as the designer. MEP engineering is handled by Smith Seckman Reid with HUNT Architecture, Engineering and Land Surveyors as the civil engineer.
