Work is ending on two projects at the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, OK. In 2020, SSR was engaged to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology services on an interior refresh project for a guest tower and the build-out of a new food hall. 

 

Grand Tower Patient Refresh 

The 330-room Grand Tower was updated to match the updates finishes and fixtures of a second guest room tower that opened in 2021. The original scope of work included a complete gut of the guest rooms and common spaces, including replacing the plumbing fixtures. As our design team got underway, it became apparent that the tower’s entire plumbing system needed to be replaced. Multiple areas within the hotel had cross-connections (hot water flowing into the toilets, etc.) and changes had been made to the system over the years to repair damaged hot water recirculation piping which impacted the system’s performance. 

Our team recommended an investigative effort with repairs made during the room refresh and the rooms were mostly vacant to cause the least amount of disruption to guests. The resulting work included the installation of entirely new HVAC and domestic hot water systems that would better serve the tower in the future.  

 

New District Food Hall 

The new District Food Hall recently opened, bringing five new dining and drinking options to guests at the casino. SSR provided electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology services for the build-out.
