Kirstie Nugent Joins Firm as Principal in Raleigh

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR), a leader among firms in design, consulting, and planning, is pleased to announce that Kirstie Nugent, PE, CHC, HFDP, has joined the firm as a Principal in the Raleigh office. She will be responsible for strategically pursuing new clients and growing healthcare market share with existing clients in the Research Triangle.

Kirstie’s leadership and strong client relationships, combined with her attention to detail and commitment to quality, make her a valuable addition to our team. Her expertise will enhance our ability to serve our clients throughout the region.” 

Kirstie brings nearly a decade of project excellence in the healthcare industry in the Research Triangle. As Principal, Kirstie will maintain and expand SSR’s presence and visibility through coordinating consistent connections with market contacts and key client relationships. She will work with operational leadership and project teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects throughout the region. 

“SSR first came to me through mutual clients who thought the firm would be a good fit,” stated Kirstie. “My initial interaction was with Susan Osterberg, CEO. That conversation really got things started. I felt like our passion for this business and our vision for the North Carolina market aligned well. Shortly after that, I met with more of the SSR team and was truly impressed with the culture and the emphasis on the healthcare market. I’m excited to work with this team and grow our business in the southeast. We have some amazing clients here and I’m looking forward to helping them achieve their goals with the SSR team.”

Kirstie graduated from Clemson University with a degree in mechanical engineering. She is a registered engineer in North Carolina, a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) through the American Hospital Association, and a Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) through ASHRAE. Kirstie is an active member of Women in Healthcare, Association Medical Facilities Planning (AMFP), the Ronald McDonald House Red Shoe Crew, North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association (NCHEA), and Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW).
