Numerous engineers, contractors, designers, architects, facility managers, etc. that work for and support healthcare organizations have not yet joined the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. If you are not yet a member, do yourself a favor and investigate www.ashe.org. Once you are a member, you will be amazed at the huge amount of information and resources made available to you.

One example is ASHE’s recently-published “Weathering the Storm – Health care facilities on the front lines of climate change response and recovery.”  As an ASHE member you will have access to this new publication, and it is very much worth your time. This document teaches how hospitals are preparing for climate change, including extreme heat or cold, drought, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, decarbonization, and so on.

ASHE also makes available to its members a huge number of ASHE Management Monographs. These documents have been created by experts in the field and are incredibly useful for individuals exploring the healthcare facility fields.
