The soft opening for F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, TN occurred earlier this month and plans are being finalized for a grand opening later this summer. The community ice center is starting to host events and will open to the public in May and Austin Peay’s men’s and women’s basketball programs are enjoying their new facilities. While the arena will not host a ticketed event until later this summer, the arena space is being used for tour rehearsals.

In a previous post, I talked about the different tenants and usage schedules of the facility. These factors led to some interesting challenges and ultimately conditions that presented a chance for water condensation due to temperature differences. Having in-house subject matter experts around specific topics such as this, the design team engaged SSR’s building enclosure team for a detailed review and evaluation of the interior wall systems.  They were able to provide unique solutions and the owner was happy with the work they did and the contribution to the project’s success.

This has been a great project to work on over the past few years, and I’m really excited about the lasting impact it will have on the community and the future growth it provides for Austin Peay University.
