Description:

The one hour session will present the key electrical design aspects that can help architects, master planners, space planners, and designers better understand how electrical equipment, equipment layouts, Codes and Standards, and other requirements impact their designs and the success of their projects. Topics covered will be: key electrical terms and common equipment, space planning and layouts, egress paths for electrical rooms, rated wall construction for electrical and technology rooms, location of service entrance rooms, and egress illumination.

 

Learning Objective:

Overview the applicable Codes (NEC, NFPA 99, NFPA 101, IBC, NFPA 13, NFPA 75) that relate to electrical design and the details of each.

Understand the space planning & layout requirements for electrical equipment.

Understand the importance of rated wall construction for electrical and technology rooms.

Overview the egress paths for electrical rooms.
