The sports design and construction business attracts some of the greatest people. From owners, developers, and architects with their visions of what could be, to the dedicated folks here at SSR that help make those visions come true, I believe we get to enjoy unique projects, processes, and people. The best part, I get to come to work each day and interact with them.
Mike Rogers, PE, LEED AP
Chief Growth Officer
While Mike learned the intricacies of calculus in engineering school, he often wondered how he would use this skill – he is still wondering that today. Following his military service and positions with other consultants, Mike joined SSR in 2000 as a mechanical engineer and project manager. Today he is the Sports & Entertainment Market Leader, specializing in leading the firm’s sports, entertainment and venue market.
Mike’s design approach focuses on crafting a design that responds to a project’s program, design opportunities, function, and costs while maintaining a high level of service. Mike values comprehensive research, planning, and design processes that integrate engineering acumen and materials to create authentic experiences that last.
Mike received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1985. He is a registered professional engineer in five states and is a LEED® Accredited Professional.
While he might not win a singing talent show, Mike would place high in pumpkin carving and caricature drawing contests. If SSR ever opens an international office in Australia, you can be sure the suggestion came from Mike. While there, he would spend more time out of the office than in, traveling the highway, dodging trees and slinging mud on his motorcycle.
