In early September 2014, Cox Medical Center Branson in Branson, MO hosted a tour and a ribbon cutting ceremony, revealing the new, three-story, $30 million Emergency Department and expanded Critical Care Unit (CCU).
CoxHealth recently opened a state-of-the-art addition to their hospital in Branson, and SSR is honored to have been part of the project, said Julia Whitacre, Project Manager. SSR worked with the CoxHealth staff and the design team to provide technology solutions that met the project goal of providing quality healthcare to the greater Branson community. The technology design also supports future expansion of the technology systems as they evolve & change in the healthcare landscape. SSR looks forward to continued partnership with CoxHealth through the second phase of Branson Medical Center Expansion
The emergency department, located on the first floor, takes up 31,000 SF and includes 32 private exam and treatment rooms, eight observation beds, and offers easy access to the existing imaging and laboratory departments at Cox Branson. The 15,000 SF expansion of the Critical Care Unit (CCU) on the second floor, provides 20 private rooms plus a large, comfortable waiting area for families.
Nearly a year ago Cox Medical Center Branson began the 60,000 SF expansion and renovation project. The new space will allow for more patients to be cared for and employees to work more efficiently Previously, Cox Medical Center Branson could only serve up to 40,000 patients annually; the completed renovation and expansion allows for the medical center to provide care for more than 60,000 patients a year.
SSR provided technology design services for the expansion and addition to the hospital. Systems included structured cabling, nurse call, DAS, security, audio-visual, patient monitoring, CATV, and OSP connectivity.
